Are you in Red?

Are you in Red?

Today is  National Red Day® and I am wearing red. Wearing red every 1st Friday in February, brings to the foreground that heart disease and stroke are serious and we need to take action.

1 in 3 women die of heart disease and stroke each year, killing approximately one woman every approximately 80 seconds. This seems very alarming, but we can bring about change, by being aware.

Knowing these numbers 5 numbers can help women and their healthcare provider determine their risk for developing cardiovascular diseases. Women should know these numbers to take control of their heart health and the numbers are:

  1. Total Cholesterol,
  2. HDL (good) Cholesterol,
  3. Blood Pressure,
  4. Blood Sugar
  5. Body Mass Index (BMI).
